Priscilla Gonzalez’s commitment to community involvement and activism grew as she pursued her career and political goals. Priscilla, a 40-year-old progressive Democrat and the daughter of immigrants, has always been motivated by a strong desire to improve her town. Her career at Herrman & Herrman in Corpus Christi was distinguished by her ardent leadership in social initiatives, which drew support for education and youth welfare programs throughout the region. Her passion to public engagement grew stronger once she graduated with a degree in political science.
In 2021, Priscilla began a revolutionary path by running for mayor of Corpus Christi. Her grassroots movement inspired voters and empowered marginalized communities to participate in local government. However, a personal catastrophe changed her direction when her stepfather became seriously ill in Louisiana. After seeing the political environment firsthand, she felt impelled to confront the established quo.
Years of frustration with inadequate representation and witnessing injustices motivated Priscilla to challenge people in authority. She decided to take action because she loved her native state and believed in fairness and progress. For Priscilla Gonzalez, the fight is more than simply politics; it’s a never-ending quest of justice and a belief that Louisiana needs leadership that reflects and empowers all of its citizens. If elected, Priscilla would prioritize individuals before parties, ensuring that every decision is made with her constituents’ best interests in mind.
As a candidate for State Representative in Louisiana’s 3rd District, I am deeply aware of the multifaceted challenges our state faces.
From economic disparities to environmental degradation, from the complexities of the legal system to the struggles of our farmers and the need for tax reform, our community is at a crossroads.
We must address these issues head-on, finding sustainable solutions that benefit all Louisianans.
This means promoting economic development while ensuring environmental responsibility, supporting our farmers through access to resources and innovative practices, simplifying our tax code to reduce burdens on families and businesses, and advocating for a fair and accessible legal system.
As your representative, I am committed to listening to your concerns, fighting for your rights, and working tirelessly to build a brighter future for Louisiana.
Together, we can overcome these challenges and create a state we can all be proud of.
I dedicated myself to actively supporting the PACT Act by spearheading efforts to raise both funding and awareness. The PACT Act, or the “Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act,” was enacted to expand healthcare and benefits for veterans exposed to toxic substances during their military service. Recognizing the critical need for this legislation, I organized community events, engaged local businesses for sponsorships, and utilized social media campaigns to garner support. Through these initiatives, we successfully raised significant funds, which were channeled into advocacy groups working directly with affected veterans and their families.
RAICES (Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services) stands as a beacon of hope and support for countless immigrants and refugees seeking refuge and assistance in the United States. As a volunteer with this esteemed nonprofit organization, based in the heart of Texas, I was drawn to their unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive aid and advocacy to those in need. RAICES has established itself as a vital resource for individuals and families navigating the complexities of the U.S. immigration system, offering a wide array of services aimed at addressing their legal, social, and emotional needs.
