Higgins 2nd Big Lie

On March 7, 2024, US Representative Clay Higgins announced $40.4 million in Funding for Projects in Louisiana’s 3rd District. Higgins led his constituents to believe he was for it. On his website Higgins states ” “My office worked very closely with our local government entities and district stakeholders for the better part of 2023 to secure this funding in the legislation. However, Higgins voted against “Community Project Funding through H. Res. 1061.”

By giving the false impression that he backed H. Res. 1061, the resolution that made Community Project Funding (CPF) available for a number of important projects in Louisiana’s 3rd District, Congressman Clay Higgins has been deceiving the public. Even though Higgins made public claims about how $40.4 million was gained for local projects, he actually voted against the resolution because of his worries about overall spending and the removal of some conservative policy riders.

The false representation of Congressman Clay Higgins’s position on H. Res. 1061 is damaging and erodes public confidence. His vote against the resolution was a thoughtless move that ignored the pressing demands of his constituents for sustainable environmental practices, economic growth, and improved infrastructure. Effective government and the preservation of public trust depend on elected officials communicating in a transparent and accurate manner.

As a Congresswoman, I promise to always be transparent and truthful with the public. Deceptive practices undermine trust and hinder effective governance. My commitment is to provide honest communication and prioritize the best interests of our community, ensuring that every decision and action is made with integrity and accountability. Together, we can build a brighter future based on mutual trust and shared goals.
