Dear Constituents,
For years, Congressman Clay Higgins has represented Louisiana’s Third Congressional District. However, constituents deserve to ask whether our district is receiving the effective, accountable leadership it needs.
While Congressman Higgins’s 2025 annual report highlights funding for key priorities—such as the Morganza-to-the-Gulf Hurricane Protection Project, flood mitigation, and infrastructure work on the I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge and I-49 Connector—voters should examine which projects are truly completed versus pending, and evaluate the actual, measurable results delivered.
The central issue is whether his record reflects the full range of challenges facing South Louisiana. Families in District 3 continue to need affordable healthcare, lower homeowners’ insurance, accessible education, stronger flood protection, economic opportunity, and veteran support. Addressing these issues requires consistent cooperation, responsible spending, and tangible results—not just press releases.
Furthermore, his voting record and decisions warrant scrutiny:
– According to Capitol Lens, Higgins voted with his party 99% of the time on party-split votes in the 119th Congress (through September 16, 2026). Constituents should consider whether independent evaluation of legislation is taking second place to party loyalty.
– In November 2025, Higgins was the sole member of the House to vote against the Epstein Files Transparency Act, citing concerns over protecting innocent individuals in investigative files (Source: Associated Press). Voters should weigh his reasoning against the public’s interest in transparency.
Louisiana’s Third Congressional District deserves leadership that puts people first.
I am running for Congress because I believe our community deserves a representative who listens to working families, supports small businesses, stands up for veterans, and works to make healthcare and housing affordable. Having worked three jobs while earning my degree in Political Science, along with my professional leadership and advocacy experience, my background reflects the real-world perseverance of the people I seek to serve.
I am not asking for support simply in opposition to Clay Higgins. I invite voters to compare our priorities, examine the records, and decide who will deliver real results for our future. We can protect Louisiana’s energy sector while expanding economic opportunities, fortifying our coasts, and demanding accountability at every level of government.
I welcome a serious conversation about the future of our district, and I look forward to answering questions and listening to the concerns of our community.
Sincerely,
Priscilla Gonzalez
