Why H.R. 8884 Matters
Voting against H.R. 8884, the Removing Barriers to Work for Disabled Americans Act, would leave disabled Americans facing unnecessary barriers to employment. Many SSDI recipients want to work but fear losing essential benefits because of complicated rules, overpayments, and benefit cliffs.
A Congresswoman can help by supporting H.R. 8884, advocating for its passage, and pushing the Social Security Administration to develop and test better work-incentive programs. The bill would restore the SSA’s authority to test new approaches for five years.
